Operations Manager for an Appraisal & Litigation Consulting Firm

Our client offers business and tangible asset appraisal and litigation consulting services to law firms, accounting firms, and government agencies. They are seeking an adaptable and highly motivated Operations Manager/Director to run the day-to-day operations of the firm and assist with tasks across HR, Accounting, Insurance, and Business Development functions. The firm is stable, long-standing, and composed of a well-respected group of professionals who view this as a vital role as the 55 year old firm continues its ongoing growth while modernizing and completing a generational transition.

This is currently a remote position. There is a preference for this candidate to be located on the west coast (ideally California), but strong candidates from anywhere in the country will be considered.

- Serve as operational goto for leadership team – ensuring firm runs efficiently, effectively, and with adherence to their unique culture
- As the firm grows, manage all administrative initiatives and team members
- Address most HRrelated administration (i.e. Spearhead annual updates to employee manuals, assist employees with navigating their benefits with providers, review and prioritize annual renewals for benefit packages, understand onboarding/exiting procedures and requirements)
- Oversee and understand various insurance products necessary for professional firm operation (i.e., professional liability employer liability, general liability, etc.)
- Proactively participate in business development efforts preparing responses to Request for Proposals (RFP) submissions to government agencies for their appraisal business lines
- Organize and maintain the organization’s public agency contracts and keep track of the unique requirements of each
- Provide a variety of administrative support as needed, including phone management, e-filing, and coordination of events
- Organize and maintain the organization’s cloudbased document storage system
- Interface with clients and service providers
- Implement calendar management process for partners and staff including travel scheduling as needed
- Assist with office scheduling, coordination of special projects and serve as backup administrative support to executives

- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- Experience in a similar operations role, preferred
- Experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Tech savviness
- Ability to proactively anticipate the needs of the office and clients
- Leadership sensibilities and an ability to motivate a team
- Attention to detail
