Payroll Manager for an Outsourced Business Services Firm

Description : Our client is a unique accounting and business consulting firm that offers a wide range of outsourced business services to small businesses and start-ups. This is an exciting and fast-paced firm with an awesome culture. The company covers everything from basic bookkeeping and tax planning to forecasting/budgets to HR, legal, and acquisition work. They are seeking a client-facing Payroll Manager to support payroll functions for their outsourced HR clients with duties ranging from benefits administration, payroll management, compliance, and other projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Work under tight deadlines to provide payroll support: payroll processing, employee onboarding and termination, benefits deductions, leave management, and policy administration

- Overall responsibility and oversight of moderately to highly complex engagements

- Develop detailed plan and budget for engagements with Senior Managers and other higher ups

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of payroll functions

- Act as clients’ liaison to both internal decision-makers and external vendors

- Support new business prospecting by attending sales meetings, providing necessary information, and drafting follow-up correspondence with prospective clients

- Support new clients through the onboarding process

- Act as a Performance Coach for internal staff and senior consultants, encouraging continued career and skill development

- Help out with occasional audits of payroll and personnel documents

- Prepare billings and out of scope billings with Managers and other leadership team members

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree, required

- 8+ years of experience in Human Resources with an extensive knowledge of payroll, with a minimum of 2+ years in a management/leadership capacity

- SPHR, PHR, or CPP certification a plus

- Familiarity with HCM software and cloud-based applications

- Ability to work as part of a team and delegate tasks as needed

- Ability to meet goals and adhere to deadlines with minimal supervision

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Adept at working with MS Suites (Outlook, Excel, Word)
